Hi, I'm John Floyd – thank you for visiting and taking the time to learn more about J Floyd Engineering Ltd.

We are a small, independent engineering practice based in Cork, with a personal focus on bespoke residential projects. Below, you can learn more about my background, our journey, and what we stand for at J Floyd Engineering Ltd.

A Bit About Me

In 2006, I graduated with an Honours Degree in Structural Engineering (BEng) from the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT). I later became a Chartered Engineer (CEng MIEI), a professional recognition of competence and commitment in the construction and project management field.

​

In 2008, I emigrated to London and founded J Floyd Engineering Ltd., where I led a wide variety of residential projects – from complex one-off deep retrofits with multi-level basements, to managing large-scale, mixed-use developments worth several million pounds.

​

After 12 years of valuable experience abroad, I returned home to Cork in 2019 with my wife and our two young children, ready to bring that expertise back to the local community.
